Ensuring that scrap never has to end up in a landfill again

For maximum flexibility in processing WEEE scrap, Ecomation offers a container-based solution. Supplied in two or three sea containers, each of which can handle up to 1 tonne of throughput an hour, units can be moved very easily from site to site and are ready to run immediately – on grid or generator power.

Planning and consulting services are an integral part of the company’s offering. When modernising existing equipment, for example, Ecomation can fit a system to monitor the condition of blades, bearings, and transmission components to ensure optimised operation at all times and improve overall performance.

The Ecomation® separation process is dry, clean, and fully automated, and designed to keep dust and odour under control at every stage – all in a very compact footprint. As no effluent is generated, the process is ideal for WEEE scrap in particular.

Ecomation’s patented system separates metals from organic materials such as plastics and light alloys, such as aluminium, from metals like copper, and glass and ceramic materials from metal-rich scrap streams. Copper is the most important metal in e-waste, and the Ecomation process offers a recovery rate for this metal that can be 2.5 times higher, or more, than the leading alternatives. This can translate into over €1 million of additional revenue annually from a system handling just 1 tonne of waste an hour.

A line’s output can be further processed via smelting to ensure that gold and other precious metals are recovered and that the overall costeffectiveness and environmental benefit of the process is as high as possible.
