Deltamarin scores major design contracts
Recent major design contracts won by the Deltamarin Group – which provides services for the shipping, shipbuilding, naval, marine, and offshore industries worldwide – have included projects for Petrobras, the Allseas Group, and COOEC. The contract placed by Brazilian oil major, Petrobras, covers concept study work for a DP EWT/EPS (Dynamic Positioning, Extended Well Testing / Early Production System) vessel for Brazil’s ultra-deepwater offshore fields. In the case of the Allseas project, Deltamarin will provide the complete detailed design for the Pieter Schelte, which will primarily be responsible for decommissioning platforms, topsides, and jackets in offshore oil and gas fields. She will also be equipped for pipelaying and other offshore construction work. Measuring 382 metres long, 117 metres wide, and with accommodation for up to 577 people, and equipped with a unique set of onboard systems, the vessel represents Deltamarin’s largest individual engineering package to date. Delivery of the completed vessel is anticipated to take place at the end of 2013, according to Allseas. Deltamarin is also working on a basic design and engineering contract for a 50,000 dwt Semi-Submersible Self-Propelled Heavy Lift Vessel for the China Offshore Oil Engineering Co., Ltd (COOEC). This will be a flat-top transport vessel primarily for use in offshore oil and gas exploration and development, with unrestricted ocean service capability.
