Mobile guide specialist Whatamap has been selected to provide the official mobile guide for one of the most demanding audiences in existence: the participants at the GSMA Mobile World Congress. Held in Barcelona between February 15 and 18 this year, the event will attract visitors from around the world representing the world’s leading companies in the mobile and telecommunications industry.

Working in partnership with GSMA, Whatamap will show visitors the way to all exhibitors and every keynote at the event – without forgetting restaurants and other services.

Like all of Whatamap’s products, the guide supports the majority of today’s smart phones including the iPhone and handsets from Nokia, Blackberry, Windows Mobile, Samsung, LG, Sony-Ericsson, and Motorola; and can be downloaded via www.whatamap.com/mwc, the iPhone App Store, and the Android Market.

Whatamap’s technology enables events like the Barcelona fair, companies, and organisations to leverage new business opportunities and enhance their existing businesses by delivering state-of-the-art mobile guides to users’ phones. An automated tool chain covering everything from authoring to distribution makes this simple, allowing customers to concentrate on creating and maintaining their content. Reducing the amount of effort needed to produce and publish a mobile guide like this results in a rapid development cycle and greater potential to adapt to and learn from users.

The Whatamap platform enables the use of a variety of technologies, such as GPS or Wi-Fi, and can handle even complex geometries smoothly. The platform has also been designed to be capable of seamlessly integrating with other business intelligence and content management systems, as well as loyal customer databases.
